RED Hot Schools Update

During the recent summer term at schools our teaching followed a RED theme. Red sweets of many descriptions added to the fun as did games involving many red items including balloons, jammie dodgers, jelly and grapes!

Each week we centred our teaching round a different word ending in the letters “RED” tying in with the campaign to raise money for AIDS victims in Africa – see www.redcampaign.org

We started with a look at the story of Jesus turning the tables in the temple – seeing red at the injustice going on there, next we looked at the story of the feeding of the 5000 as we considered shared and our willingness to share what God has given us. We considered how the guests at the wedding in Cana discovered the truth about Jesus and ways we can do the same. We looked at how we are all treasured by God as we thought about the story of Jesus washing the disciples feet. We looked at the story of Joni Eareckson as we considered people we admired who rely on God and finally considered the story of Thomas as we shared with the students that we can be assured of our salvation.

All our teaching came from John’s gospel and during this term we were able to give away several Bibles to students.
